Cardano Ghana Community at 5: Our Impact and Journey as Cardano Marks 9
Five years, 50+ events and 2000+ participants later, Cardano Ghana Community looks back at its journey as Cardano marks nine years.

As Cardano marks nine years, Cardano Ghana Community is celebrating a milestone of its own: five years of educating, onboarding and empowering Ghanaians to use and build on Cardano.
This is a short look at where we have been, who we have reached and where we are heading.
Five years in numbers
- 5 years of Cardano Ghana Community
- 50+ events hosted
- 20+ committed local leaders and ambassadors
- 500+ community members
- 2000+ participants reached
What we have done
Meetups and community events. From the Cardano Meetup in Tamale, which brought users and builders together again, to the first Bitcoin Pizza Day Global Pizza Party in Tamale with PizzaDAO, we have created spaces for people to learn, network and share ideas about blockchain and Web3.
Campus engagement. At Tamale Technical University, we introduced 70+ students from different disciplines to blockchain fundamentals, Cardano's use cases and the Cardano Blockchain Certified Associate (CBCA) course. Through Catalyst Campus Train, with WADA, we also took Cardano education to students and young builders.

Governance and Catalyst. Our governance workshop with Catalyst Africa Town Hall covered the Constitutional Convention and practical steps to becoming a DRep. Our Catalyst Working Group workshop looked at how builders in Ghana can use Project Catalyst for incubation and acceleration, and our dReps Onboarding sessions helped community members take part in governance.

Growing local leaders. The Cardano Ghana Ambassador Programme selected and onboarded 20 committed community members as meetup organisers, content creators and moderators, under the banner Lead for Cardano, supported by the Cardano Foundation's #CardanoAmbassador initiative.

Summits and gatherings. We also brought the community together in Kumasi for Cardano Summit 2023, a local gathering for a global blockchain event.
Why it matters
Each activity connects global Cardano initiatives with local needs: education for students, a governance voice for community members, a path into Catalyst funding for builders, and a trained network of ambassadors who can keep the work going across Ghana.
Looking ahead
- Expand meetups beyond Tamale, with ambassadors leading local chapters
- Run regular beginner workshops on wallets, staking and first transactions
- Grow campus partnerships and promote the CBCA course
- Support builders towards Project Catalyst proposals and local hackathons
- Publish regular recaps so the community can track our progress
Thank you
Thank you to the Cardano Foundation, Project Catalyst, Catalyst Africa Town Hall, WADA, PizzaDAO, our host lecturers and venues, and above all everyone in the Cardano Ghana Community who shows up, learns and builds. Five years in, we are just getting started.
